A new webinar series developed in collaboration with the BSPR and Midlands Imaging Teaching Academy delivering a series of free, weekly webinars designed to teach the core components of the first three years of the RCR clinical radiology curriculum. This entry level course is designed to provide the student with the foundations to understand the Gamma Camera, a key piece of equipment in the world of Nuclear Medicine. At the end of the session, the student will be able to understand: The concept of an Isotropic Source and considerations regarding radiation. the key components of the Gamma Camera. The Collimator, Scintilation Crystal, Light Guide and Photomultiplier tubes.How each component functions in generating an Image. Photopeaks and its selectionWhat we see in image formation.Static, Sweep and Dynamic images.Other types of Gamma Camera not so commonly used. NB. SPECT/CT not covered in this lesson but will be out in the future. Do not worry if you cannot make the live session. It will be recorded and published after to be seen a time more convenient for you.

Band 6/7 leadership training - Step into LeadershipPlease note this course is available for London NHS colleagues only.This course is designed to support Band 6 and 7 senior imaging staff in developing a confident, reflective, and compassionate approach to leadership within clinical practice. As professionals at a pivotal point in their career progression, participants will explore the distinctions between leadership and management, gaining insight into how both are applied in the day-to-day realities of radiographic services.The course introduces key leadership concepts, including varying definitions, behaviours, and styles, while aligning with the values of compassionate leadership and our organisation’s leadership way. Through increased self-awareness, senior imaging staff will reflect on how their natural leadership stance and communication style influence team performance, staff wellbeing, and patient outcomes.An emphasis is placed on understanding the responsibilities of leadership appropriate to Band 6 and 7 roles whether supervising junior staff, leading service improvements, or stepping into more strategic functions. Participants will be encouraged to consider how leadership style can shape success, how to adapt in complex situations where there may be more than one correct approach, and how to lead with integrity in line with HCPC standards and professional expectations.
